Sunday, November 2 was All Souls Day, a day for remembering those we love who have died. We held a special communion service with an opportunity to light candles in memory of loved ones who have died and included prayers for all the faithful departed. After the service, everyone had a chance to write inside the walls of the new church building with names, scripture verses and other appropriate graffiti.
It is a reminder that the church is not made of cement and steel. A church is the living stones, the people who worship in that building and elsewhere.
The morning concluded with a highly successful cookout with hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill enjoyed in the current church building.
Thanks to Karen Beck for taking most of these photos.
