In-Reach and Life
Join the In-Reach Ministries of King of Peace Episcopal Church
In-Reach ministries and Parish life includes groups serving the needs of the congregation and providing pastoral care. In the Book of Common Prayer, a question is asked and answered: “Who are the ministers of the church? The ministers of the church are lay persons, bishops, priests, and deacons.” Each of us is a minister of the church. King of Peace offers a variety of opportunities to serve within the church. These dedicated groups welcome additional helping hands, minds, and hearts in these services. Vestry Liaisons are Debbie Hayes and Gil White.
Nursing and Health Care Ministry The Nursing and Health Care Ministry sets up in the Narthex every 1st Sunday to take the blood pressure of the congregants. They help the parishioners maintain a current file on their blood pressure and provide health related handout materials from groups like the American Heart Association. They schedule visits to the homes of parishioners with health issues and can assist with the loan of such aids as wheelchairs, crutches, neck collars, etc. Contact: Carol Nyi
Card Ministry The card ministry shares birthday greetings or get well messages to members of the congregation to be sure everyone knows that someone cares. Contact: PJ Jordan
Helping Hands Ministry The Helping Hands Ministry organizes meals for special occasions, funeral foods, and home deliveries to parishioners after surgeries or confining illnesses. They coordinate the menus and the delivery of foods while relying on the help of many volunteers to prepare dishes when special assistance is needed. Contact: Sande Schmidt
Newcomers Ministry The Newcomers Ministry is a welcoming group to newcomers to our parish. They provide information about the church and community as needed, provide church mugs and brochures, and welcome treats to our newcomers. They introduce newcomers to other parishioners and help them get acquainted and established as the newest members of our church family. Contact: Colby and Georgia Stilson
